Artists at work: How do inspiration and finances co-exist?

Those who earn their living in the arts face a constant challenge between survival and visionary muse.

How do you follow your creative passion while still remaining financially viable?

 

I profiled three Vancouver, BC visionaries—ice painter Gord Halloran, balloon artist Sylvia Matthies, and food carver Manun Wondyai—in the spring 2004 issue of PeopleTalk magazine. I edited this British-Columbia-wide publication, published by the B.C. Human Resources Management Association, for about five years.
